Why a Ohio refund can be delayed
The the Department lists these causes:
- Some returns need a tax examiner's review before a refund is issued (this does not necessarily mean something is wrong)
- Mail time for refund checks
- High paper-filing volume in March through May
- An e-filed return that was not accepted and must be retransmitted
- All or part of the refund applied to debts reported by other government agencies
- Preparer or software fees deducted from the refund
