Your calculator inputs

Every calculation on PlainSums runs locally in your browser. The amounts, rates and figures you enter are not sent to our calculation server or associated with an account. Some preferences, such as your display currency, may be saved by your browser on this device. Printing or copying a result happens only when you choose that action.

On calculators with a “Share” control, choosing it creates a URL whose query string contains the values currently in that calculator. Anyone who receives that URL can read those values. A CSV export from those calculators also includes that reproducible settings URL. PlainSums does not transmit the link to us; remove the query string or use Reset before sharing an export if you do not want those settings included.

Analytics

We may use aggregate site analytics to understand which pages are useful. Calculator values are not deliberately attached to analytics events. Like most websites, hosting and security providers may process routine request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested.

Advertising

If this site displays ads in future, ad partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads. Where required, you'll be asked for consent and can opt out. We will keep ads non-intrusive and clearly labelled.
