When to start checking: E-filed
Fri, December 25, 2026 – Fri, January 1, 2027
7–8 weeks after filing. This is when the department says to start checking, not a payment date.

What you need to check your refund
The the Department's refund page does not say what the tool asks for. Have a copy of your Hawaii return ready; most state tools ask for your Social Security number and the exact refund amount on the return.
